A Personal Take on the new Maxporter II Carry On

When I was tasked to do an editorial piece for a product review, my first thought was to keep this as brief as possible.
Get all the product details out, the standard pros and cons, and finally let the audience decide. Easy, peasy.
I didn’t expect the product to be reviewed was the new Traveler's Choice Maxporter II Carry-On.
Let's be honest, it looks really good.
The whole luggage design follows suit to its original Maxporter II trunk luggage. That 30 inch monster is a masterpiece and I am pretty proud to own one myself.
It makes good sense that Traveler's Choice came up with the carry on since the Maxporter trunk was so well received when it was launched a few years ago.

This little trunk-style wonder managed to impress me and I don’t get impressed easily.

The Perfect Build

The Traveler’s Choice Maxporter II Carry-On is an evolution from the award-winning Ultimax II series, which received the Red Dot Design Award in 2017. (Singapore was the first Asia launch for Traveler's Choice brand)
The carry on is constructed from 100% polycarbonate, and is built to handle the wear and tear of regular travel. The hard shell is resistant to impact and scuffs, and the trunk-style design offers a more structured shape than traditional luggage.
Visually, it’s sleek, clean and modern. The front exterior of the luggage offers a strap to stow your bags, similar to its trunk version. Side corner guards to prevent impact and front handle for easier handling.

Key Features

-
Front Bag Strap: One of the more practical additions is the front bag strap, designed to secure smaller bags or backpacks on top of the carry-on. This makes it easier to move through airports with fewer things in your hands.
-
iTravel® 2-Port Charging System: The built-in charging port offers both USB-A and USB-C options, so you can plug in your own power bank and charge your phone or tablet on the move. It’s a convenient feature that’s especially useful during long waits at the gate or in transit.
-
Global Sentry TSA Lock: Security is well-covered with a TSA-compliant lock that allows inspection without damage. It’s a must-have for international travel and adds peace of mind.
-
T-Cruiser® Handle: The patented T-Cruiser® telescopic handle provides a more ergonomic grip. It’s comfortable to hold and feels stable when maneuvering through busy terminals.
-
Dual Cyclone® Spherical Wheels: The wheels are noticeably larger than average, and they handle different surfaces with ease. Whether you’re rolling across carpet, tile, or uneven walkways, the movement is smooth and quiet.
-
Anti-Theft Zippers: The zippers are reinforced for security, pairing well with the polycarbonate shell to keep contents protected during transit.

Final Thoughts

This carry-on is a solid, well-thought-out piece of travel gear. The brand didn't change its winning formula by reinventing something new but it combines everything we’ve ever wanted in a carry-on into one sharp package.
Stylish enough to turn heads, tough enough to survive transfers through Charles de Gaulle and the price is so affordable, taking consideration the amount of features and functions.

Personal Ratings:
Design: 10/10 (Solid colors, solid materials and solid warranty)
Weight: 8/10 (The whole build is not supposed to be light-weight but acceptable among top brands)
Functionality: 10/10 (All the essential plus extra)

Would I take it on a three-day business trip or a cheeky long weekend in Tokyo? Absolutely.
Would I recommend it over a designer carry-on that costs twice as much but does half as much? Without question.
Next trip, Taiwan. Here I go.
